EOTD: Subtle Smokey

I've been wearing this look quite a lot recently; mostly because it's really easy to do and you look pulled together.
Here's what I used to get this look:

Annabelle e/s in Graffiti applied to lid and blended slightly into the crease
MAC e/s in Corduroy in the crease
MAC e/s in Patina as highlight and placed on tear duct
Rimmel Khol Kajal Liner in Black applied in waterline (lower only)

Do you have a go-to look that you like to wear?

In & Out #2

In:

1. MAC Dollymix blush: It's very bright but I love the natural glow that this blush gives to my cheeks.

2. DDF Daily Cleansing Pads 5% Glycolic Acid: Since I started using these last month, my skin looks and feels so much better. It's helping to fade my acne scarring while providing some gentle exfoliation. I love products that can multi-task.

3. Olay Complete All Day UV Moisturizer for Combination/Oily skin: I'm really surprised at how much I like this moisturizer. It's really light and absorbs into my skin really quickly.

4. Orange Corrector: I've noticed recently that the circles under my eyes have gotten a lot darker. This corrector helps to neutralize that darkness so that I can look fresh and radiant.

5. The Body Shop ~ Love Etc. Perfume: I'm really loving this fragrance. I picked it up as soon as it hit the stores in Canada.

6. MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation: I get the coverage I want along with ease of application.

Out:

1. Cold weather.

2. Mario Badescu Enzyme Cleansing Gel: This just isn't cutting it right now. I think that it may be more of a spring/summer cleanser rather then one for the fall/winter.

Easy Eye Makeup remover

I stumbled across these eye makeup remover pads on one of my most recent trips to Sephora. For $10(CDN), you get 30 cotton pads that are pre-soaked in eye makeup remover. I really like these because the cotton pads are thick and soft and remove my eye makeup beautifully. Also they don't leave those nasty fuzzies on my eye. The best way to remove your eye makeup that doesn't cause too much stress to your eyes is to hold the cotton pad against your eye for a few seconds and then gently wipe under your eye.
What are some of your favourite eye makeup removers?

Eyebrows: Before and After

On Saturday I went to Ivory Salon & Spa to have my eyebrows threaded by Irene. I decided to go there after Michelle from Lipstick Rules left me a comment recommending them to me; and because they are close to home. I've had my brows threaded before but it has been more then 2 years now since the last time that they were threaded. Pictured below are what my brows looked like before.

And now after

I'm really happy with the way that things turned out. I also had my upper lip threaded as well. The upper lip hurt more then the brows but Irene was really quick. I also couldn't believe that there was less redness with the threading then I usually get with waxing. And the redness subsided fairly quickly.

Overall, I had a really good experience with threading and also at the Ivory Salon and Spa and would highly recommend them to anyone looking to have their brows threaded.

I'm on a mission..

to find a place that will not butcher my eyebrows. I was given a few tips the other day when I popped into Sephora at Yorkdale the other day. The cast member suggested that I check out some Indian beauty salons as they usually do a really good job for really cheap. She gave me the names of two places and I think that I'm going to try and brave it this weekend and go and have them done. There's a place on Gerrard street that supposed to be really good, so I think that I'll try there first as it's a bit closer to home then trying to trek it out to Scarborough from downtown Toronto.
Have any of you ladies had your eye brows threaded? Does it look better then when you've had them waxed?

Review: Maybelline Superstay 24-hour Makeup

I picked up this foundation some time last month when it was on sale for 20% at SDM.
According to the Maybelline website this foundation is supposed to be able to hold up to sweat and humidity as well as provide a no-transfer wear. Maybelline also touts that this foundation is suitable for all skin types and that it's breathable as well as oil free.

What I think:
This foundation applies really nicely and I had no trouble blending it in to my skin; however I did find that the shade seems to be a tad more on the yellow side then some of their other foundation so I had to use a slightly darker powder so that I wouldn't look ashy. I've been really into a quick makeup application these days so I've only been applying this foundation with my fingers;which something I rarely do. I like that this foundation held up during my morning jog to catch the train and held up until I washed it off usually around 9 pm so I definitely get a full days wear. What I don't like about this foundation is that it doesn't have a pump and the lid gets caked up pretty quickly so I find myself constantly cleaning the spout.

Overall:
This is a pretty decent foundation; it's not the best foundation but also it not the worse. It provides a medium coverage and blends well into the skin. It also holds up when perspiring. I think that foundation colour that I picked up could use a tad more orange in it but other then that it was an ok match. I think that this would be a pretty good foundation for people with dry-combination skin; I'm not sure how well this would hold up for those that are extremely oily so you may want to skip this one if you need more of an oil control.

When Boredom Strikes
